Hisham Echafaki’s has a fascination for still life. Animals, one way or another, always find their way into his paintings. Whether they are the protagonists, or whether they are represented in their natural habitats or surrealist ones, they are ever present. Echafaki is a self-taught painter who beautifully incorporates and mixes multiple art styles into his work, from Renaissance inspired bodies to graffiti. The other facet of his art are his multidimensional paintings, in which the still life appears to gain new life, sometimes with an aesthetic they didn’t enjoy in their previous one. He resides and exhibits his work in the UK.
