Gabriezzo La Etérea started their journey as an artist through painting, but moved away from it because they felt it was an egocentric process in which they were representing only themselves. When working as a hairstylist, a cousin gave them a camera, Gabriezzo’s first. This is how Gabriezzo started an exploration of the self of their subjects. Nudity is the connector between all their photographs because Gabriezzo believes a person's skin is their most authentic outfit. They also believe that the eroticism displayed by the models’ poses is in itself words, like sign language. Language is essential for the Colombian artists, because they were born deaf. Through their art, Gabriezzo intends to break taboos for the deaf community, trans people, and society at large.
